General student information

Second and third year Bachelor of Science students

The basic requirement of a major is the completion of subjects at 300-level totalling 50 points. View the requirements for a major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2009.

BSc Honours students

The one-year departmental BSc Honours course involves:
a research project; (65%)
course work; (25%) and
oral presentations (10%).

Entry is by merit, usually after a three-year BSc degree.

The Honours course is open to students with a major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a third-year faculty score above 65. There may be exceptions to this entry requirement.

Postgraduate students

The department offers a stimulating and friendly research environment for PhD students. About 50 students participate in the PhD program which offers projects in structural biochemistry and molecular and cellular biology.
