Bachelor of Biomedicine

B Biomedicine students majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

To complete a major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2010 B Biomedicine students must complete the following 300-level subjects:

• Advanced Techniques in Molecular Science
• Protein Structure and Function
• Functional Genomics and Bioinformatics

And one of:

• Molecular Aspects of Cell Biology (strongly recommended)
• Cell Signalling and Neurochemistry (strongly recommended)

OR •

• A third-year level subject from one of the following majors:
• Cell and Developmental Biology
• Chemistry
• Genetics
• Human Structure and Function
• Microbiology
• Infection and Immunology
• Neuroscience
• Pathology
• Pharmacology
• Physiology
• Plant Science
• Science Informatics
• Zoology

Note:

In order to take Advanced Techniques in Molecular Science as part of a major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, students need to have taken the 200-level prerequisite subject Techniques in Molecular Science. The B Biomed core 200-level subjects will serve as prerequisites for all other 300-Level Biochemistry and Molecular Biology subjects.
