Microscope

Leica TCS SP2 confocal microscope (with inverted stand) for fixed fluorescent cell samples. Transmission images can also be collected.

Lasers: UV and VIS – argon (Ar) and helium neon (HeNe)

Filters: UV/CFP, 488/GFP, 568/Texas Red

Objectives: x20air, x40oil, x63oil, x100oil

Training Policy

Potential users must book and complete a tutorial before using the Leica confocal system. Tutorials take 1-2 hours.

Booking

Registered users can book online through WebCal:

Bookings are limited to 3-hour blocks between 9 am and 5 pm on weekdays. Longer bookings can be made after hours. Contact Biochem IT to set up online booking and personal computer login.

Rates

Departments, institutes and companies must be registered before work commences. The following charges apply (to cover the cost of the service contract, lasers and personnel).
